“The venue was perfect in every way. The ceremony room was filled with natural light pouring through stunning stained glass windows. The reception was held downstairs in The Pauper’s Pit which was “very cool” according to some of our guests. All the staff were amazing, especially Vicky. The day couldn’t have gone better.”

“We were made to feel very welcome and looked after by the staff at The Old Hall Hotel in Buxton and felt like they were doing everything to make our wedding as special and important as possible. We had a free tasting session of most of the menu, we were allowed to change our package for our needs and the day went off with military precision. We had a great day and by the time the wedding came about, we didn’t have to lift a finger as they’d taken care of it all!”

“Once we approached The Old Hall Hotel and confirmed we would hold our wedding reception at their venue we were treated like a prince and princess. Every request we made was professionally dealt with to the smallest detail. The taster session confirmed our choice of meal and ALL of our guests said that it was by far one of the best meals they have had at a wedding. We feel that all staff treated us with sincerity and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Old Hall was the best.”

Nothing was too much trouble and every alteration or alternative was discussed with us so we never felt we were losing control. “From start to finish our wedding planning went without a hitch. The whole process took just under 12 months and Vicky Eyre was utterly brilliant. We had started out wanting a small wedding but as time passed we needed to change the room to accommodate extra guests and change many of the day’s arrangements, but Vicky was most accommodating at every bend! Choices of food were really varied and guests commented that meal choices were the best they’d eaten at a wedding!”

“I’m quite a traditionalist and love the old-fashioned-ness of The Old Hall. It was as though our wedding was held in two locations … the wedding banquet in the restaurant and then the quirkiness and slight medieval-ness of the Orchestra Pit in the evening (and the awesome band Purple Cloud of Funk). I always like to do things a little bit differently and didn’t want to get married in a hotel in the middle of some golf course. We had a church wedding in our local village and then guests enjoyed the hour long drive through the Peak District on a sunny spring day to get to Buxton. For us the fact that dogs can stay in the hotel and took part in some of our wedding photos was also a bonus. The hotel is clean, the staff are exceptionally friendly yet professional and the food is exquisite. There is nothing about my day that I would change at all and wish I could do it all again.”

“I had a very specific idea of what I wanted; a simple intimate Christmas wedding. I contacted a number of suppliers to see if they would be able to accommodate my ideas. Every venue I contacted replied with a brochure of their packages for me to look at except The Old Hall. Victoria Eyre, from The Old Hall, was the only one who responded to exactly what I asked. Victoria replied not only to say they could accommodate me but with suggestions of how that would work. We spoke on the telephone about ideas and I knew I had found my venue. Victoria really listened to me and understood what I wanted. She was then able to use her considerable experience to take what I wanted and bring it to life.”
