Chatsworth House

A day out with a difference, visit Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is one of the most popular stately homes in England, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Chatsworth House is just a short distance away from the Old Hall Hotel in Buxton, so our guests are keen to visit.

Chatsworth House itself is an obvious attraction, with a fine architecture and 30 beautiful rooms to explore. Chatsworth House also boasts one of the finest art collections in Europe. Chatsworth Gardens are also a popular attraction, having been developed over its 450 year history; the 105 acre garden is managed by a team of 18 gardeners and trainees! Chatsworth has a fabulous farmyard and adventure playground that will keep children amused for hours. The farmyard facilities are very educational with milking demonstrations and opportunities to get up, close and personal with the animals. Don’t forget the tea rooms and farm shop selling fresh produce from the estate, tenant farms, Derbyshire suppliers and small food producers. With so much to see and do, you can understand why its such a popular destination.

The Old Hall Hotel organises special Chatsworth breaks along with many other stately homes in the area if you are interested.
