Unique theatre breaks to inspire you at the Old Hall Hotel
The Old Hall Hotel in Buxton is situated just two minutes walk from Buxton Opera House, one of Britain’s leading theatres showing approximately 450 performances each year. Buxton Opera House is one of the country’s finest examples of Frank Matcham theatre designs, dating back to the Edwardian era and was lovingly restored in 2001. It now boasts a wide range of shows, from dance, comedy, children’s shows, drama, musical concerts, pantomime and opera each year.
The theatre is a major draw for guests coming and staying in Buxton, particularly at the Old Hall hotel, and we offer pre and post theatre evening meals as well as interval drinks in the bar. We highly recommend booking pre and post theatre dining options well in advance as it is a popular choice.
As well as the packed show programme Buxton Opera House is also home to the prestigious Buxton Festival, The International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival and The Four-Four-Time Festival of Live Music. Take a look at our special theatre breaks
