This year Buxton will be showcasing more historic landmarks than ever before as part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days. The Old Hall Hotel and Discover Buxton are delighted to be able to once again support the Heritage Open Days for 2017, from the 7th until the 10th September 2017.
Mary Queen of Scots visited Buxton over a period of 11 years to take the waters and was probably happiest here. The story we tell takes you, especially in honour of Heritage Open Days, into her bower and recreates the sights and sounds of 1573. The event is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
Pre-booking is required. Please contact reception to book on 01298 22841. Or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Mary’s Bower is located on the first floor, although there is a lift to get to the bedroom there are some steps. A maximum of 12 people per tour / session. Mary’s Bower is one of the 35 bedrooms in a 35 bedroom hotel. This room is usually a letting bedroom for our guests to book. We have acquired the help of Discover Buxton to help tell the story of Mary Queen of Scots in Buxton.
