Peak Indulgence Days
With Sally Mosley and Ros
This particular ‘red letter day’ experience offers gentle activity, sumptuous hospitality and well deserved pampering at the Old Hall Hotel and Devonshire Spa, with a stroll into the glorious surroundings of the Peak District. It is offered either as an event day or as part of a short break stay.
The fun begins with coffee and biscuits in the lounge at around 9.30, followed by a short tour (subject to availability) of the hotel to see relics and features dating back to when Mary Queen of Scots was a visitor. The Old Hall has a well renowned history of providing hospitality as a hotel to the rich, famous, distinguished and genteel for some 500 years!
Before lunch you will be able to gently stretch and tone your muscles in one of our private function rooms with an hour of Pilates. Having worked up an appetite, the group will then head to the beautifully decorated and immaculately presented dining room for a 3-course lunch of quality fine dining with a glass of house wine.
After lunch our walk around Buxton will begin, incorporating lots of hidden gems and tucked away secrets. Let us show you a classical Buxton which is packed with ornate and intricate architectural features. Be taken to visit a time-warp shop which is listed to preserve its very special interior. Weather and time permitting we may well experience an aerial view of Buxton from Solomon’s Temple, a hilltop folly atop Buxton Country Park or see a rare example of a lime-burners hovel, built into the hillside and very much an unknown curiosity but historical relic. Packed with snippets of local knowledge, history, gossip and fascinating facts you will look at Buxton in a new light.
The ultimate finale and end to your Indulgence Day with us is when you end your walk at the famous Dome and descend into Devonshire Spa for a pampering massage or rewarding spa treatment. Soothe away any aches and pains to enable you to drift on a high of Peak District happiness! And as an extra reward, every person will be presented with a little goody bag containing a small range of local Peak District products, to enjoy and savour when you have returned home.
Indulgence Day costs (based on groups of 4-10 persons) - Pilates class + guided walk around Buxton + all refreshments detailed above and goody bag of Peak District products - £95 per person.
